Dr. I.T. Business School launched a Student Stock Exchange (SSE), prototype of Stock Exchange which was opened by Prof. K.K. Mangla, ex-chairman UBS and ex dean faculty of commerce Punjab University.
The purpose of the launch is to make students familiar with the dealings of Stock Exchange and to improve analytical reasoning of students regarding different companies in the Market. In SSE, 10 companies from ten different sectors have been selected.
The basic rules for operation of SSE are:- 1) Buy and sell of Rs. 50,000.00 lot fixed for every student. 2) Actual losing price of companys share in sensex and nifty is to be taken as opening price of shares in SSE next day. In SSE, Shekhar Nikhanj, MBA student plays a role of SEBI. Buying and selling of shares of companies managed by students.
Prof. K.K. Mangla, chief guest of the occasion, in his address to the students said that before investing in shares of any company, one should analyze the economic Indicators, peak and bottom of share price and past experience of the company. He advised the students that, Never make an investment, the amount if you lose you can not forget and Never make an investment in any shares of the company about which you do not have any knowledge.
