Dr. I.T. Business School, Banur organized a seminar on �Women empowerment followed by Inter-Business School Declamation contest ‘Aprajita 2008’. Six teams from different B-Schools participated in the contest. Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Promila Vasudev former Chairman Deptt. of Psychology Panjab University, Chandigarh.

In her address she said that women have come a long way from the dark tunnel of Parda, Sati Pratha, and Illiteracy etc. Females nowadays are given decision making power and are carrier-oriented. They are also open to those professions which were earlier considered to be men dominated. She also mentioned that women related laws must be implemented in letter and spirit. In this contest she also appreciated the role of Indian government’s empowerment policy for women and role of NGO’s like sewa, sakhi, sarathi etc. working for gender equilibrium.

Dr. Sunita Dhir famous theatre and film artist and Dean art and culture Panjabi University, Patiala. said that Indian women has transformed from her traditional past towards a modern and bright future. She has a lot of potential to be the best in the world.
